Feedback about LAK-17B FES sailplane

It is always nice to get an appreciative and kind feedback from the pilots flying with our sailplanes. We decided to share the Roman Kostelnik, owner of the newest LAK-17B FES sailplane, comment about his first flight with the new glider:

"On April 23, 2020, I flew for the first time on my LAK 17. The glider works perfectly. Operation is simple and easy. The distance flown was 400 km. I want to thank you Vytautas and the whole LAK team for working on my glider."

Best Regards

Impression of Mini LAK sailplane

We would like to share a nice review of Mini LAK by Ghislaine Facon, the pilot and owner of sailplane which achieved wonderful results flying with her Mini LAK FES glider (42 French records, 7 European and 6 World records). See the pilot's impression below (also the translation into English).

Meilleures salutations,

Ghislaine Facon

TRANSLATION

After a long experience of over 40 years of flight as owner of glider and motorgliders, I decided to no longer buy motorgliders with thermal engine, often unreliable because too often fragile and capricious.

During the World Championship in Pociunai in August 2015, a friend informed me of the flights of a new 13.5-meter FES motorized glider that was very well finished. After studying the technical characteristics on the website of the manufacturer UAB "Sportine Aviacija ir Ko", I trusted his very long experience by ordering a LAK-17B FES mini, Minilak. I opted for the FES autonomous electric drive option, to test it. Upon delivery to Pociunai, I greatly appreciated the seriousness and skills of the manufacturer. After reading the flight and maintenance manuals, the first flight was easy. Today, I have two flight seasons totaling 125 hours in 32 flights including 15 take-offs with the FES engine (other take-offs in towing because the runway was too short). My experience with the LAK-17B FES mini, Minilak, convinced me of the relevance of my choice. In addition, it allowed me to achieve very nice and safe flights, with 42 French records, 7 European records and 6 World records in both speed and distance.

On the one hand, the LAK-17B FES mini, Minilak, glider revealed excellent qualities of flight at low and high speed, generating a very great ease of steering, in particular for the detection of lift. Its flight behavior is very pleasant, and above, all very healthy in flight. This makes it a particularly secure glider, which should be recommended for novice pilots.

On the other hand, the practice reveals a great ease and above all a real reliability of operation of the autonomous electric motor FES which pleasantly surprised me. Nothing to change, it's perfect. This is an undeniable element of flight safety, for my part, very rightly praised by the flying community by the FAI price, reference https://www.facebook.com/lzdesigndoo/videos/732661446884868/). This represents a huge improvement over the thermal engine. And, in addition, it avoids the emission of CO2 for ours Earth.

Delighted with this autonomous electric glider FES built with great care and seriousness by UAB "Sportine Aviacija ir Ko" with "LZ Design d.o.o.", I consider that it is certainly the best glider I have ever owned. Many thanks to them.

So happy, I hope to have the pleasure of flying for a long time and achieving a lot of new records with such superb autonomous glider.

Best regards,

Ghislaine Facon

Aviation Expo at Targi Kielce

On 27-28 of September we took part at the Aviation EXPO at Targi Kielce (Poland) with our Mini LAK sailplane powered with FES and JET engines. So we would like to share several photos from the exhibition and to thank the organizators and all visitors for a great time. And many many thanks for the Pawel Frackowiak (our dealer for Poland) and Maciuś Kowalski for their great help.

mini LAK article at “Frostingen”

Take a look at the new article about the mini LAK FES sailplane. The Norwegian newspaper "Frostingen" published a story about Trygve Rushfeldt flying his sailplane.

The Mini LAK-FES: one more long distance flight, 530 km

The owner of Mini LAK sailplane shared with us an impressions about his long distance flight.

Here are the comments from a happy Customer:

it is now four month ago when you transported the mini LAK to our airfield. In the meantime our club members flew the mini LAK for 60 h.

The first week in August we stayed for flying holidays in Bartholomä, a small glider airfield in the south of Gemany. During that time I personally flew the mini LAK over a 530 km cross country flight: (https://www.onlinecontest.org/olc-3.0/gliding/flightinfo.html?dsId=6778170).

Some people in our club have been skeptical if it will be possible to perform long cross country flights with a 13.5 m glider. Everybody now is very enthusiastic and happy about the performance and the flying qualities of the aircraft. Also the manufacturing quality was pointed out. ...

It was a concern for me to give you a positive response about our mini LAK.

Have a good time and best regards
